While superficially similar to Breakzombies in having retained a roughly human form, these Breakborn are marked out by their superior agility and mobility. They may not be particularly strong, but their tendency to attack from behind or to throw stones from afar can make them much trickier and more frustrating opponents than seemingly more formidable foes. | |

They like to attack en masse, but the size of their war parties can vary widely depending on whether they've been making new friends among their kin, or fighting with other denizens of the Corruption. While they're born in the places where the Break is the most concentrated, they're hugely adaptable, and often appear where it's less concentrated too. | |

This particular species of Breakborn can be found all over Athia. Having taken on certain reptilian characteristics in the process of becoming corrupted, they barely resemble their former human selves. They are known for their enormous tails, which they use as very effective weapons, and they can also employ poison-based attacks. | |

Reptilian Breakborn created in the very depths of the Corruption, and which are so far removed from their former human selves that they even occasionally walk on all fours. They appear all over Athia, but only where the Break is deepest. Given this restriction on their territory, when they are encountered, it's rare to meet just one. | |

While they've taken on some birdlike traits in the process of becoming corrupted, this particular species can't actually fly. At best it can glide just a little way. But that doesn't mean it's not a threat-- its cries can freeze enemies on the spot, leaving them entirely defenseless if it then chooses to attack. | ||

A monster grown massive after absorbing enormous amounts of the Break. Not only is it enormous, it has also developed the ability to heal itself. Add to that its ferocious strength and its ability to attack from afar with clumps of crystal, and you have a real force to be reckoned with. They are nomadic by nature, and can be found all over Athia. | ||

A monster whose enormous intake of the Break has wrought huge and irreversible changes. Just like its less-corrupted cousins, it can heal itself, but its strength is even more outlandish, making it an extremely dangerous foe indeed. Luckily, it only tends to be found where the corruption is most concentrated, and as such is only rarely encountered. | ||

Being a Breakborn, this thing must have been human once, but something very extreme indeed has happened. Whoever it once was, what happened to them, and where they once came from are facts now lost to the Corruption. What is known is the horrendous power of its attacks. They don't come much stronger than this. |
